How to Write an Article

This website allows multiple authors to write and post articles. All articles on this website must be LFA-related.

To write an article on the LFA website, you must first have an account, with a username and password. Your account must be granted the right to post and publish articles. If you need such an account, contact the website administrator.

If you have this type of account, you’re all set to continue. On the right-hand side of the LFA website screen, there is a heading called “This Website.” If you see “Login” there, click it and log in using your username and password. If there are two entries, “Logout” and “Site Admin,” click on “Site Admin.”

You are presented with the Dashboard screen.  Click on “Write” at the top of the page. You will be using the “Write Post” function to write your articles. It is a simple form that you fill in with the information requested.

The key portions of the page to complete are:

  • Title: Will appear in bold letters at the top of your article.
  • Allow Comments: Just leave this checkbox checked if you want to allow readers to add comments, or uncheck it if you don’t.
  • Categories: Allows readers to find you article quickly under its property categories. Check all the boxes that apply to this article. You should select at least one. If you need a new category, contact the website administrator.
  • Post: The article itself.  The toolbar at the top works a lot like Microsoft Word.  To add a link to another website, select the text you want to link from, and then click the “Insert/edit link” button.  The help button has some great information about how to use this toolbar.
  • The buttons at the bottom let you save as you go along, and save to publish when you are ready. That’s it.
