Activities & People
Below is a list of ongoing programs undertaken by the association, and the people involved. Where there are too many people to list, only the team leader is listed.
All are unpaid volunteers, giving their time to better our neighborhood. Please consider volunteering a little of your time to keep our association running smoothly and effectively. It’s a fun, rewarding way to meet and help your neighbors. Contact the appropriate person below to get involved.

| Mailing Parties Nancy DeLong & committee 942-3710 |
Our mailing group gets together a few times each year to collate, insert and stamp our mailings to all of our members. This is actually a lot of fun! The mailings go together fairly quickly, and there is always a lot of talk and a few refreshments. New volunteers are always welcome. |

| Booker Creek Remediation Project Judy Leinbach 929-0449 JLeinbach@nc.rr.com |
As part of our last lake restoration project, we were required to landscape a section of a Booker Creek tributary to prevent downstream erosion. This project requires annual work over the next few years. Contact Judy to be part of the crew that pitches in for this environmental project. |
| Engineering Don Brewer 932-9363 lfadonbrewer@mindspring.com |
Managing a 48 acre lake, its dam, the association-owned shoreline. and other common property requires a good deal of planning and oversight. This Lake Forest resident devotes a good deal of time in this area. |
| Enviromental Impact TBD TBD TBD |
Present and future upstream developement poses a continual threat to the health of our lake. The environmental impact committee attempts to stay abreast of developments and take proactive steps to prevent this damage. |
| Fishery Dick Hill 942-3869 hillstudio@mindspring.com |
Managing our fishery involves planning and purchasing the fish we stock, surveying what is caught, and setting appropriate fishing policies. We encourage you to let this neighbor know what type and size fish you are catching in Eastwood Lake. |
| Forebay Don Brewer 932-9363 lfadonbrewer@mindspring.com |
This is a silt retention pond built on Booker Creek just upstream of our lake. We take precise annual depth measurements of the forebay to study the amounts and patterns of sediment collected there. It take a number of people to make these measurements, and more help is always welcome. |

But it does mean your group will be the only larger group there at the reserved time. Contact this person with questions and to reserve a date. |

We like to have at least three socials at the park each year. In the spring, we have an open house picnic, when all members are welcome, Associate, Participating and Non-participating. Mid-summer, we have a Summer Party, with lots of games and fun contests. Then in the fall, we have a final social. These activities are fairly easy to pull off when many people pitch in. Feel free to contact Judy to help. |

Chuck samples our lake water at least three times each year: spring, mid-summer, and later summer. Then he takes it to a testing facility, and reports the results via this website. He’d like to get another volunteer involved, so he has a backup and there is cross-training. |
